Born and bred in Lincolnshire, Katie Hand is set to compete in the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship this year, joining the world’s elite female riders in an international series showcasing the very best in women’s circuit racing.
For the 2026 campaign, Katie will be riding for Team Trasimeno and will line up against top-level competitors across a global calendar of iconic race venues, with the championship getting underway at the Algarve International Circuit in Portugal.
Katie secures a full-time ride in the Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship with Team Trasimeno, returning to Yamaha on the R7. Following an intensive winter testing programme across Spain and Portugal, she heads into her debut season on the world stage.
A challenging but valuable season in BSB National Sportbike with Factory Triumph saw Katie continue to build resilience and experience at a higher level. She also demonstrated her versatility across multiple disciplines, including flat track and beach racing. In September, she achieved a major milestone by securing a Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship wildcard at Magny-Cours with Carl Cox Racing, marking her arrival on the international stage and gaining valuable experience at elite level competition.
Switching to Triumph, Katie progressed into BSB National Sportbike, demonstrating strong pace and adaptability. However, her season was cut short after breaking her collarbone in August.
Continuing in BSB Junior Supersport, Katie secured international opportunities including a Yamaha bLU cRU World Championship wildcard and test. She strengthened her relationship with Yamaha and regularly competed within the points throughout the season.
Stepping up to BSB Junior Supersport, Katie competed at British Championship level, gaining valuable experience against elite national competition while developing her racecraft and consistency across a demanding season.
Katie returned in dominant form, winning the Thundersport Superteen Championship and making history as the first female champion. Alongside this success, she continued to broaden her experience across flat track and beach racing.
A disrupted season due to COVID-19 limited racing opportunities, but Katie remained focused on development, using the time productively to refine her skills and maintain progression despite reduced track time.
In her first competitive road racing season, Katie was crowned Darley Moor Junior Champion, becoming the first female rider to achieve this and immediately establishing herself as a standout young talent. Remarkably, this was also her first season on a road bike.
Katie began riding at 13 on a CRF100 in motocross. Inspired by her father and time spent around UK paddocks, including the Manx Grand Prix where her father raced, she transitioned to circuit racing, starting her journey on a Yamaha R3.
Throughout her career, Katie has also been a flat track champion and beach racing champion, highlighting her talent across multiple motorcycle racing disciplines.
